Global Citizenship Education

Global Citizenship Education

Aims:

The research project delves into the multifaceted domain of Global Citizenship Education (GCE). The project aims to understand and bridge the GCE gap through teacher and student perceptions at both international and local Israeli schools. By systematically reviewing empirical studies, the researchers strive to redefine GCE and evaluate its impact on students’ socio-economic status. Additionally, the project explores the representation of GCE in International Baccalaureate (IB) schools and examines environment-related education topics within GCE scholarship. The project also assesses trends in GCE within teacher training programs, considering the complexities introduced by mobility, conflict, and globalisation in contemporary education systems.
