Cosmopolitan nationalism
Aims:
The research project examines the emergence and application of the cosmopolitan nationalism framework in educational settings, investigating how educational institutions navigate the dual pressures of global integration and national identity preservation. It aims to analyze the manifestation of these competing forces across different educational levels and contexts, with particular attention to policy formation, institutional practices, and stakeholder experiences. Studies include comparative analyses of educational reforms, curriculum development, and school leadership strategies that demonstrate the interplay between nationalist and cosmopolitan orientations. Further, the project explores how educational institutions operationalize this dual approach through specific programs, teaching practices, and organizational structures while considering the broader implications for educational policy and practice.
