Lab head Miri Yemini elected Chair of Israel Young Academy
We’re proud to announce that Professor Miri Yemini, head of People&Planet Lab, has been elected Chair of the Israel Young Academy for 2025-2026. She will lead the Academy’s new executive committee alongside Professor Jennifer Oser (Ben-Gurion University) and Professor Assaf Shwartz (Technion).
The Israel Young Academy, established in 2012 as an incubator for leveraging Israel’s academic capabilities, plays a crucial role in strengthening connections between Israeli academia, policymakers, and society. The Academy comprises approximately thirty top-tier researchers under 45 who demonstrate excellence in research and commitment to social and academic involvement. Professor Yemini’s leadership will guide the Academy’s continued efforts to promote research capabilities, develop young scholars, and address challenges of national and international importance while maintaining the organization’s commitment to disciplinary and gender balance across Israel’s diverse academic community.
